Get to the Ark

Noah's Ark, Turks and Caicos: the complete guide

Noah's Ark Beach Club is a floating bar anchored in the turquoise shallows off Providenciales, with no road and no beach. You can only arrive by boat, which is exactly the point. Here's how to get there, what to expect and how to turn lunch on the water into the best day of your trip.

Noah's Ark is one of those places that looks made up until you're standing on it. Music drifts across the water, boats raft up alongside, and the sea underneath is the colour of a swimming pool.

It's also easy to get wrong. Turn up at the wrong dock, at the wrong time, or without a plan for getting back, and the day goes sideways. This guide covers everything we tell friends before they go.

1. What Noah's Ark actually is

Noah's Ark, officially Noah's Ark Beach Club and often called a floating tiki bar, is moored in the water off the north-east of Providenciales. It opened in 2022, and its owner has described it as a full-service restaurant on the water rather than a tiki bar. The menu backs that up.

There's no land to walk to. Guests arrive by water taxi, private boat or jet ski, tie up, and spend an hour or an afternoon eating, drinking and playing in the water: there are sea swings, trampolines and floating mats off the side.

It sits in the Half Moon Bay channel between Little Water Cay (better known as Iguana Island) and Water Cay, in the protected waters of Princess Alexandra National Park. That location is why it fits so neatly into a day on the water.

It made international headlines in December 2023, when Drake spent an afternoon at the bar. See who else has been spotted at Noah's Ark.

Good to know

  • Open daily from late morning until around sunset. Sunday is the big party day, with DJs on deck.
  • The bar posts its hours, events and private bookings on Instagram at @noahsarktci, and takes calls and texts on +1 649 246 7490.
  • Outside food and drinks are not allowed on board.

2. How to get there

You have four options, and the right one depends on how much of the day you want it to fill.

A private charter is the best way to do it, and the way most people who love the Ark go back. The boat and crew are yours, you tie up right at the bar, and the Ark becomes the lunch stop on a day that also takes in the shipwreck, Iguana Island and a snorkel. Popular picks are the Adventure Boat from Leeward and the 43ft Ultra Luxury Yacht Charter from Blue Haven.

A jet ski turns the ride into the main event. On a private 2HR or 3HR Custom Jetski Tour you get your own guide and pick the stops, the Ark included. The group 3HR Ultimate Seafari & Lunch at Noah's Ark rides the coast and finishes with lunch at the Ark, included.

The water taxi (people also call it the ferry or the shuttle) is the simple option. The bar runs its own boat from a dock beside Blue Haven Marina in Leeward; recent visitors report about $30 to $40 return. It works if all you want is a drink and a swim.

Your own boat or jet ski works too: you can pull up without a reservation. We cover every option in detail in how to get to Noah's Ark.

3. What to eat and drink

A cocktail held up in front of the Noah's Ark sign
Drinks come cold and strong. Taken on a day out on the 35ft Luxury Yacht Charter.

This is a proper kitchen on the water, and the menu leans into the islands: cracked conch and conch fritters, jerk chicken, whole grilled snapper, fish and chips, burgers and wings, with lobster in season.

The house cocktail is the Super Mario, named after the bar's mixologist; El Patrón and the Noah's Cooler are close behind, and there's bottle service for groups. Food and drinks are paid to the bar on board, separately from whatever got you there.

Good to know

  • Plan on island prices: cocktails and burgers start around $20, seafood around $30, before the 12% government tax and the service charge.
  • Cards are accepted, but bring some cash. Card machines on the water can drop out.
  • Menus and prices change. The bar posts specials and events on Instagram at @noahsarktci.

4. Make a day of it

The 43ft Ultra Luxury Yacht Charter at the shipwreck, minutes from the Ark.

Here's the thing most first-timers miss: Noah's Ark is best as the lunch stop on a bigger day, not as the whole plan. Everything worth seeing on this side of the island is within a few minutes of it.

That's why a private charter is our top pick. The 43ft Ultra Luxury Yacht Charter and the 47ft Luxury Yacht Charter leave from Blue Haven Marina, the closest marina to the bar, and tie up right alongside. With a big group, the Adventure Boat takes up to 25 from Leeward; recent guests have stopped at Noah's Ark between the shipwreck, snorkelling and conch diving.

Prefer a jet ski? Book a private 3HR Custom Jetski Tour and build your own route, or the group 3HR Ultimate Seafari & Lunch at Noah's Ark with lunch at the Ark included. Our perfect day plan shows how the stops fit together.

We send readers to TCI Experiences for all of these. Their private charters and jet ski tours carry thousands of verified reviews, and you book online with a deposit.

7. Tips before you go

A few things we've learned from sending people out to the Ark week after week.

Good to know

  • Check @noahsarktci for the day's hours, events and private bookings before you set out.
  • Taking the water taxi? Message the bar ahead to arrange it, and agree your return time when you board.
  • Pick your day. Sunday is the DJ party; weekdays are calmer and better with younger kids.
  • Wind matters. On a blustery day the ride out is choppier, and mornings are usually calmer.
  • Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and water shoes. Shade is limited and the deck can be slippery.
  • The water around the bar isn't always shallow enough to stand in. Weaker swimmers should grab a float.
  • Tours and charters book out in high season (December to April). Lock in your date first, then plan around it.

Frequently asked questions

What is Noah's Ark Beach Club?

Noah's Ark Beach Club is the official name of Noah's Ark, the floating bar and restaurant off Providenciales that people also call a floating tiki bar. It opened in 2022 and you can only reach it by boat.

Where is Noah's Ark in Turks and Caicos?

It floats in the Half Moon Bay channel between Little Water Cay (Iguana Island) and Water Cay, off north-east Providenciales, five to fifteen minutes by boat from Leeward and Blue Haven Marina.

How do you get to Noah's Ark?

Only by boat: the bar's own water taxi from a dock beside Blue Haven Marina (arrange it ahead), a jet ski tour such as the 3HR Ultimate Seafari & Lunch at Noah's Ark, a private charter, or your own boat or jet ski.

Do I need a reservation for Noah's Ark?

Not to visit. If you arrive by boat, jet ski or charter, just pull up. For the water taxi, call or text the bar ahead on +1 649 246 7490 to arrange a pickup.

How much is the Noah's Ark water taxi?

Recent visitors report about $30 to $40 return from the dock beside Blue Haven Marina. Fares change, so confirm with the bar when you book.

Are kids allowed at Noah's Ark?

The bar welcomes kids, and the swings and trampolines are a hit. Sundays are the big DJ party with a grown-up crowd, so families tend to prefer a weekday visit.

Is there a ferry to Noah's Ark?

Yes. The bar's own water taxi, which people also call the ferry or shuttle, runs from a dock beside Blue Haven Marina in Leeward. Call or text +1 649 246 7490 to arrange a pickup.

Do you need tickets for Noah's Ark?

No. There are no tickets and typically no cover charge. You pay for the water taxi if you take it, and for what you order at the bar.

What happens at Noah's Ark on Sundays?

Sunday is the big party day: DJs on deck, boats rafted up all around, and the busiest crowd of the week. Arrive early if you want a spot to tie up.

Is it Noah's Ark or Noah's Arc?

It's Noah's Ark, officially Noah's Ark Beach Club. You'll see "Noah's Arc" in some videos and posts, but it's the same floating bar off Providenciales.

Noah's Ark or Captain Oak's: which floating bar is better?

Noah's Ark is the bigger one and the party spot, in deeper water near Half Moon Bay. Captain Oak's, off Long Bay, is smaller, shallower and quieter. For a day of jet skiing or a charter, the Ark's location next to the shipwreck route and Iguana Island is hard to beat.

Is lunch included on the jet ski tour?

On the 3HR Ultimate Seafari & Lunch at Noah's Ark, yes: one lunch per jet ski. Extra food and drinks are paid to the bar.

Can a private charter stop at Noah's Ark?

Yes. On a private charter the route is yours, so ask your captain to make the Ark your lunch stop. Most powerboats tie up right at the bar; the 51ft and 62ft yachts anchor just off it and you wade in. Charters from Blue Haven Marina and Leeward are closest; see boat charters to Noah's Ark.

Can you pay by card at Noah's Ark?

Cards are accepted, but connections on the water are unreliable, so bring some cash as a backup.

When is Noah's Ark open?

Daily, from late morning until around sunset. Hours can shift for events, so check @noahsarktci on the day.

What's the best time to visit?

Sunday afternoon if you want the party. Late morning on a weekday if you want it calm: the water is usually smoother before the afternoon breeze builds.

Is Noah's Ark worth it?

As a quick drink, it's fun. As the lunch stop on a day of jet skiing or a private charter, it's one of the best days you can have in Turks and Caicos.
